Salad 1 | The self-conflict

It is said that there should be around thousands of salads out there. Not sure how many I can make. Let's see how far I can go. I don't usually follow any recipes. My style is to create out of whatever I have in hand.

Here are things I made in 60 minutes: a salad and some starters:
  • Starter 1: Green meat balls
  • Starter 2: Cucumber rolls
  • Main course: Self-conflict salad
Lessons to learnt from today:
  • Strawberries can bring a strong taste, causing conflicts in flavors.
  • Pears and/or strawberries and sweet basils are such a nice combination.
  • When making the sauce, try to have as less bubbles as possible.

Office Salad Buffet Lunch

Indeed it is recommended to try, especially in the current economy and weather situation in Vietnam. It is also a perfect fit for Green themed activities. We have done a few times at office. For the first time, some of the team members showed some hesitation, mostly from Vietnamese members. Once they tried it, they seemed to like the idea and for the coming month, they are discussing about some Salad Contest in the company.

It's healthy for the team, and at the same time, low cost as well.

Why this Saladaholic blog?

I used to hate salads or any kinds of fresh green things served for meals. I used to think salads as something boring, tasteless, unsafe (as not cooked yet). I used to think salads as something for decoration or just side dishes. That weird idea about salads has lasted for nearly 30 years.

Recently, I have realized that I was wrong about salads. It's thanks largely to you who have shown me a whole new world of salads. Salads are in deed exciting, tasty, healthy. Salads can be the main courses too. Preparing salads is a great fun time - simple to do, quick to see the result, easy to create something new. Salads also teach me a lot about cultural differences between the East and the West, and other regions. I still remember the day we invited my parents for some French-styled salad and they both asked for extra fish sauces to add in.

I'm not an expert about salads. I'm just on my way to become addicted to salads and want to learn more about it. I think it could be great to take some snapshots to share with you and to learn from you too.

No salads. No fun.
